Designed and built an antique looking switchboard panel for the Golden History Museum. To be used as an “escape room” style puzzle piece. Users collect letter/number clues from other exhibits around the room and patch them into the switchboard panel. If they have the right combo a secret recording will play for them. Letter/number combinations can be easily rearanged to be able to change the puzzle frequently for repeat visitors.
WY State Museum immersive lighting and sound effects
Created an immersive lighting and sound system for a redesigned space at the WY State Museum.
Colorful sun rises in the Eastern corner, then the room gradually fills with light for the daytime. Lights start to fade out from the East, and a colorful sunset in the west makes the transition to night time. Set for 10 minutes of daytime, 3 Minutes of nighttime – but easy to change the lengths.
During the day there is an ambient soundtrack of daytime wildlife, that switches over to a night time soundtrack at night. A campfire and lantern also turn on at night to provide a little bit of lighting in the room.
12 push buttons trigger specific animal sound effects from speakers located near their locations around the room.
Photosynthesis
Made a presentation for a new public artwork for the city of Lone Tree, CO – a piece called Photosynthesis. It would be 18 feet tall and 12 feet wide. Motion detectors triggered by viewers control the lighting of the piece while optical illusions dance across its surface. Here are a few of the slides from my presentation.
